About Us

Asian Wildlife Trust: Protecting Nature, Wildlife, and Heritage for All

Founded in 2019 by Dr. Ramakanta Panda, Padma Bhushan awardee and India’s leading cardiac surgeon, the Asian Wildlife Trust (AWT) is dedicated to ensuring conservation and community welfare go hand in hand. We believe protecting nature must also empower the people who depend on it - bridging wildlife preservation, habitat restoration, and human well-being.

  • Advancing environmental protection
  • Conserving natural beauty and heritage
  • Promoting wildlife welfare

Our mission is to blend conservation with community empowerment. From safeguarding forests and wildlife to supporting forest workers and local tribes, we create sustainable impact through welfare projects, eco-friendly tourism, and livelihood initiatives.

  • Empowering forest workers and their families
  • Preserving wildlife and protecting natural habitats
  • Building a sustainable future

Our vision is to be a leading force in wildlife conservation, acting as a bridge that aggregates and connects programs where dedicated conservationists can reach and support the forest workers and communities on the front lines of protecting wildlife and natural habitats.

  • Leading force in wildlife conservation
  • Connecting conservation programs
  • Supporting those protecting wildlife and habitats
